The chart below shows information about changes in average house prices in five different cities between 1990 and 2002 compared with the average house prices in 1989.

For example, the grey bar on the far left indicates that the average house price in New York during the 1990-1995 period was 5% lower than the average house price in New York during 1989. On the other hand, the patterned bar on the far right indicates that the average house price in London during the 1996-2002 period was 12% higher than the average house price in London during 1989.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
