The IELTS Academic Reading test is designed to test a wide range of reading skills, including reading for gist, reading for main ideas, reading for detail, skimming, understanding logical argument and recognizing writers’ opinions, attitudes and purpose.

This is a shorter version of the IELTS Academic Reading test.

The Reading test is forty minutes long and consists of 28 questions. There are two passages, each with 12-14 questions. You should spend about 20 minutes on each passage.

There is a variety of question types. Follow the instructions for each question type.
